Growing up with a mother who ran a daycare, Joel spent significant time with children before and after school, as well as during summer breaks. This early immersion naturally led him into the field of school nursing.
Joel embarked on his journey after completing his education at Samuel Merritt University, ranked #2 in the nation and #1 in the state, and securing a position in his hometown of San Leandro, CA. His career quickly advanced as he seized opportunities within prestigious educational institutions like Palo Alto Unified School District, California's #1 school district, and Duke University, renowned as one of America's top universities. At Duke, he played a pivotal role in reshaping healthcare policies and procedures. Upon returning to California, Joel assembled a dedicated team to further his mission of enhancing school safety.
With 9 years of devoted service as a credentialed school nurse, Joel has partnered with over 33 school districts, ensuring the well-being of more than 275,000 students across 5 states. His reach spans from historically impacted communities, elite societies, and remote populations:
